Bromley complete signing of Wealdstone defender Deon Woodman
Bromley have signed defender Deon Woodman from National League side Wealdstone for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old Kenya international joins after winning Wealdstone's Player of the Season award last term. Woodman spent time at Crystal Palace as a youth player before joining Wealdstone on loan from Queens Park Rangers in February 2024. He later completed a permanent move to Wealdstone, where he made a significant impact.
Who is Deon Woodman?
Woodman, 23, is a versatile defender who can play at center-back or full-back. He spent time in the youth ranks at Crystal Palace before moving to Queens Park Rangers. After a loan spell at Wealdstone in 2024, he joined the club permanently and quickly became a fan favorite. Last season, he helped Wealdstone finish 15th in the National League with 56 points, scoring 67 goals and conceding 74. His recent form includes a 0-0 draw against Southend United on May 17, 2026.
What does this mean for Wealdstone?
The departure of Woodman is a significant loss for Wealdstone, who will need to find a replacement for their defensive leader. The club finished last season in 15th place with a record of 15 wins, 11 draws, and 20 losses. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with no wins in their last five games (DDLLD). Wealdstone will now look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
What's next for Bromley?
Bromley have made six signings in the space of three days as they prepare for their first-ever season in League One. The addition of Woodman and winger Ethon Archer on loan from Luton Town shows their ambition. Bromley will be looking to build on their recent success and make an impact in the higher league.
