Wealdstone Secures Season-Long Loan of Experienced Striker Luke Norris
Wealdstone FC has announced the signing of former Colchester United striker Luke Norris on a season-long loan from Boreham Wood. The 33-year-old, who made 96 appearances for Colchester and scored 23 goals during his time at the club, brings a wealth of experience to Gary Waddock's squad.
Wealdstone boss Gary Waddock expressed his delight with Norris' signing: “When you combine the fact Luke has great experience above this level, is a goalscorer and a leader, then it's a fantastic signing for us - no question about that. Although it’s still a young-ish group here, all the players will know him and what he's done during his career.”
Norris joined Colchester from Swindon Town in the summer of 2018 for an undisclosed fee. The striker spent two and a half years with the U's before moving to Stevenage in January 2021.
“[He] will be a great asset on the pitch with his experience; you need older players around to help the team problem-solve during matches and he'll definitely help us do that,” Waddock added. “He’s had a good pre-season and this is a fresh start for him now.”
The signing of Norris comes as Wealdstone prepares for the 2026/27 National League campaign, with the club looking to bolster its attacking options ahead of the season.
