Southend United head coach Kieron Dyer has previewed his side's upcoming National League trip to Wealdstone. The Shrimpers, who are third in the table and unbeaten away from home this season, travel to Grosvenor Vale this Saturday.
Dyer addressed the media ahead of the fixture. The former England international acknowledged the challenge of facing a Wealdstone side looking to bounce back from a midweek defeat.
Wealdstone sit 19th in the National League with 15 points from their 15 matches, having recorded four wins and three draws so far. Their most recent outing was a 3-2 home loss to Solihull Moors on Tuesday, a game in which Alex Henry and Fejiri Okenabirhie scored late consolations. That result ended a run of three consecutive victories, which included a 1-0 win at Aldershot Town last weekend, a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest U21, and a 3-0 triumph against Worthing. The team's recent form over the last five league games reads three wins and two losses, following a heavy 6-0 defeat to Yeovil Town and a 2-1 loss at Barrow earlier in October.
Southend's visit represents a significant step up in opposition for the Stones. The visitors are 26 points clear of Wealdstone and have yet to lose on the road in the 2026/27 campaign.
Wealdstone's recent form has been mixed, with three wins and two losses from their last five league games. They will need to tighten up defensively after conceding 27 goals already this term, having scored 20 for a goal difference of minus seven. The club's next match after this is detailed on our fixtures page.
The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, October 31 at Grosvenor Vale.
