Wealdstone secured a second consecutive away win with a 3-1 comeback victory at Boston United on Saturday. The result lifts the Stones to 17th in the National League table on eight points from seven games.
Jamie Grimes headed Boston in front after twelve minutes from Gavan Holohan's cross. Wealdstone responded when Dylan Kadji volleyed home from a Kyle Smith knockdown to level the score in the 27th minute.
Baptiste's key stop
Boston had a chance to retake the lead before half-time after Smith handled in the area. Lenell John-Lewis stepped up but saw his penalty saved by goalkeeper Dante Baptiste. John-Lewis later hit the post with a header.
Wealdstone took control after the interval. Olufela Olomola turned in Jayden Harris's cross to make it 2-1 in the 64th minute. Just two minutes later, Jaydn Mundle-Smith fired home from Jay Wells-Morrison's pass to seal the points.
Manager's reaction
"The character after going a goal down was excellent," said manager Stuart Maynard. "Dante's save was a big moment and we were clinical when we got our chances."
The win extends Wealdstone's recent form to three wins, one draw and one defeat from their last five outings. They are now nine points behind league leaders Boreham Wood. The full squad list is available on our squad page.
