Wealdstone secured a dramatic 3-2 win over Southend with a stoppage-time goal at Grosvenor Vale on Saturday. The victory, which came courtesy of a 94th-minute strike from Olomola, lifts the Stones to 19th place in the National League standings. This leaves them with 15 points from 15 games, a record of four wins, three draws and eight defeats, and they are 26 points behind the league leaders.
Southend took an early lead when L. Chambers-Parillon scored after just four minutes. Wealdstone's Okenabirhie levelled from the penalty spot midway through the first half, but Chambers-Parillon struck again six minutes before the break to restore the visitors' advantage.
The second half saw a flurry of substitutions from both sides. Norris, who had been introduced as a substitute, equalised for Wealdstone in the 63rd minute. The match appeared headed for a draw until the fourth minute of added time, when Olomola finished from a Newton assist to snatch all three points.
The win extends Wealdstone's recent strong form to four victories in their last five matches, a run that includes a 1-0 win over Aldershot Town on Saturday 24 October and a 3-0 victory against Worthing on Saturday 17 October. This positive form is a stark contrast to a 6-0 defeat by Yeovil Town earlier in the month. They now have 15 points from 15 games, having scored 20 goals this season but conceded 27. Before that, the club hosts Derby County U21 in the National League Cup on Tuesday. Their next league fixture is away to Hartlepool, who are 20th, on Saturday 14 November.
