Yeovil Town have signed forward Owen Dean on a permanent deal until 2028. The move sees the 22-year-old leave his boyhood club Farnham Town for an undisclosed fee, with Yeovil meeting a release clause in his contract to trigger the transfer.

Dean spent his entire career with Farnham, joining at the age of five and making 214 appearances over the past five years. He contributed 133 goals and assists in that time, scoring 91 times. Last season he netted 20 goals as Farnham won promotion to the National League South, and he started this campaign with four goals in the sixth tier before his final appearance in a 3-2 win over Weston-super-Mare.

Farnham Town chairman Harry Hugo confirmed the club had offered Dean improved terms to stay but the player chose to move up the pyramid to a full-time club. The deal includes a considerable sell-on clause for Farnham.

"I would like to emphasise how grateful and thankful I am for my time at Farnham Town, and to everyone involved behind the scenes who have continued to believe in me," Dean said. He added, "This club holds a major place in my heart and will continue to do so forever."

The signing bolsters Yeovil's attacking options as they sit sixth in the National League, inside the play-off places. Dean joins Billy Rowley’s squad ahead of the new campaign. His arrival comes just before Yeovil travel to face Wealdstone, who are 19th in the table with 12 points from 12 games.
