Wealdstone's next opponents Southend United have seen three loan players return to their parent clubs, with manager Kieron Dyer explaining the decisions this week. The Blues, who sit sixth in the National League, will travel to Grosvenor Vale on 31 October. Dyer confirmed the exits of Ryan Battrum, Finley Woodham and Ephraim Yeboah after short spells at Roots Hall. Battrum, from West Ham, made one substitute appearance, while Charlton's Woodham was an unused substitute on three occasions. Bristol City's Yeboah also featured once from the bench.
"Two of those decisions were on us," Dyer said, referencing the club's own choices. He expressed a particular desire to extend Battrum's stay, but the player sought more regular football. "He’s enjoyed his time here but he wants guaranteed minutes," the manager added. Another factor was the potential suspension of defender Vontae Daley-Campbell, which influenced selection and squad planning.
Wealdstone, who finished 15th last season, will be looking to improve on a recent run of form that has seen them lose their last two matches. Their most recent game was a heavy defeat to Yeovil Town. The last meeting between the two sides ended in a goalless draw in May.
